J. Dontaé Roberts is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (CASWCM), and a clinical researcher. He has worked with disadvantaged adults, including the homeless, fathers, persons affected by diseases, and Veterans for many years.

 

In his work with fathers, Mr. Roberts has served as a psychotherapist helping individuals, cope with depression, anxiety, PTSD (urban and combat), and race-based trauma. His research on fathers consists of understanding their role in reducing the risk of HIV/STIs in African American children, the impact of racial trauma on African American fathers’ mental health, and the barriers African American fathers endure when experiencing homelessness.

 

J. Dontaé Roberts is a highly skilled social worker with over ten years of experience in the field. He has worked extensively with program development, qualitative and quantitative research methods, counseling adults and Veterans with Severe Persistent Mental Health Illness (SPMHI), group sessions, medical and clinical case management, and crisis intervention.

 

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Roberts is currently studying to achieve a Ph.D. in Social Work through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University joint program.

Still, his highest and most important achievement is being a father!
